Mirai Millennium SF BG by Pinakes Mirai Millennium SF BG by Pinakes
BG/Key image kind of thing for Mirai Millennium project by Danny Choo (see [link] [link] [link] [link]). I got the permission to display this here, and in the future, other subsequent images from the project as well :).

If you happened to be in Danny Choo's panel at AX2011, you might have seen this image there. If you actually remember there was the school one, well, that one is still under tweaking so I'll leave it for next time can now be seen here [link] in 4 seasons :).

And don't ask what are those rings for since I don't know either XD

EDIT: Wow, Thanks a lot for the DD! It's my 2nd time now XD

Mirai Millennium SF BG by ~Pinakes Suggester says: "An awesome scene that has great details and colors. What I like most about this piece is its vision and depth, gives you a feeling that you're flying across this futuristic city viewing every small detail of it." how do you make those tinny buildings fogging out on the bg? I find myself spending too much time on those just to blur out 80% of the work later, cause I dont know how to make them already "fogged out" if you get what I mean

I did make them normally and then just cover them with fog (I didn't blur them, perhaps just a tiny bit if I need to). Since they're far and small, I just didn't spend a lot of time on each. Mostly just silhouette (with photo tex or random vertical strokes) and window lights, of which I used either photo texture or custom brush.

Good to see an artist who helped bring Danny Choo's character world to life. I'm surprised they didn't make some kind of one time animated show with all the gorgeous artwork that was in their intro.
